Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying supervisor of needed repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; studying publications; participating in scheduled bimonthly meetings. Maintains fire station building, grounds, and related equipment by completing maintenance schedules. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. May respond to emergency calls for specialized service such as hazardous materials, confined spaces rescue, extrication and technical rescues that include high angle, below grade, trench and collapse rescues; | Requirements: 1. We are looking for dedicated individuals to serve as volunteer firefighters throughout Hardin County, Savannah, TN. The department provides free training opportunities, department t-shirts, training and response incentives, and more. We offer special operations teams and a first responder program to department members once they have completed the minimum training requirements. | Requirements: Please note that you must live in Hardin County in order to volunteer for HCFD. Once an application request is received you will be contacted via email/text to complete a full application. A State of TN driver's license is required to be a volunteer on HCFD. You must submit a copy electronically or in person before your application can be processed.
