The Fire District is comprised of approximately 140 square miles in South East Barry County and South West Stone County. Central Crossing covers approximately 156 miles of shoreline on Table Rock Lake. The estimated average population of the District is 6,200. Join us in May to prepare camp for summer by painting, cleaning, and performing various maintenance tasks. This opportunity is open to anyone wanting to serve, and all expenses are covered.

Summer Staff Volunteers serve an entire session (typically 3-4 weeks) and are required to be at least one year out of high school. Responsibilities include roles such as kitchen staff, waterfront safety, and program support.

Weekend Wranglers serve during the retreat season and assist with various roles throughout the weekend. Volunteers will stay on camp and room and board are included.

Work Crew is for high school students who have completed one year of high school. Volunteers assist with tasks such as dishwashing, housekeeping, and serving in the dining hall.

As a canyon guide, you will engage Dogwood Canyon’s guests by introducing them to the key features of the park and informing them about the park’s activities. Canyon Guides help ensure that everyone has a unique Ozarks experience.

Greeter and Wayfinder Volunteers assist guests by educating them on the property, animals, and conservation. Volunteers interact with guests and highlight the great animals and sights of Dogwood Canyon.

Bicycle attendants help look after and organize the rental bikes at Dogwood Canyon. They assist guests in finding the right bike and recommend favorite spots to enjoy during their visit.

Holiday Island Fire Department is seeking local and out of district volunteers who are interesting in learning the skills of being a firefighter or an emergency medical responder. This unique volunteer position serves the retirement community of Holiday Island, Arkansas and the surrounding area. Volunteers respond from home on emergency calls and help staff the station. All training and gear are provided. HIFD responds to 2.5 calls per day. Our services include basic life support medical response, fire suppression, auto extrication and water rescue. Volunteers may function as medical responders, firefighters, or both.
