As an interior firefighter you'll be responsible for assisting in fire suppression, rescue, and search tactics at structure fires. Firefighters are also responsible for responding to and assisting in medical, including motor vehicle accidents. Duties at medical alarms include but are not limited to: driving an ambulance to and from scene and hospital, assisting EMTs with patient care, lifting and moving patients into and out of ambulance. Firefighters are also responsible staffing our marine rescue boat and assisting with water rescues, operation of hydraulic and other power tools at motor vehicle accidents and other technical rescues. | Requirements: Upon entering the fire department and beginning their probationary period members must: maintain a 20% quota of all incidents including: fires, ambulance calls, weekly trainings/drills, department and company meetings. Within one year of joining members must complete firefighter 1 course at Suffolk County Fire Academy, attend all OSHA training, gain working knowledge on all fire apparatus, become driver qualified on ambulances. Adult Volunteers at Camp Good Grief help provide a safe and caring environment for campers. They serve as group co-leaders, activity facilitators, provide security, or act as bus monitors, ensuring campers are supported throughout the day.

Youth Volunteers assist counselors and campers during group therapy and other camp activities including swimming, sports, games, arts & crafts, and special events. Volunteers must be 15 years old and commit to attending all 5 days of Camp.

Volunteers assist in caring for rescued horses and farm animals, including feeding, grooming, and maintaining their living spaces. Volunteers must complete a background check and attend an orientation session before starting.

Assist at adoption events by keeping puppies clean and happy, taking photos for the website, and answering questions from potential adopters. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and comfortable with cleaning up after puppies.

Assist the Recreation Department with evening and weekend activities, including trips to Belmont Race Track and monthly shopping. Volunteers will help organize events and engage with residents to ensure they have a fulfilling experience.
