Provide transportation for cats to and from veterinary appointments or to their new homes, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.

Participate in organizing and executing fundraising events to support the refuge, engaging with the community to raise awareness and funds.

Conduct virtual home visits to assess the suitability of potential adopters' homes for the cats, ensuring a safe and loving environment.

Assist with weekend guests and prospective adopters, helping to create a welcoming environment and providing information about the cats and the refuge.

Help with the adoption process by providing information to potential adopters and assisting with the necessary paperwork to ensure a smooth adoption experience.

Foster parents provide safe, loving temporary homes to allow dogs to transition from abandoned to adopted. CBCR covers vet expenses, while foster parents provide love, care, and security.

The Home Evaluation Coordinator receives all adoption applications, acknowledges them, explains adoption procedures, and arranges for in-person home visits for potential adopters.

Assist with the daily care of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing companionship. Volunteers will also help with maintaining the sanctuary grounds and facilities.

The Volunteer Firefighter drives or rides an emergency vehicle in response to fire, rescue and emergency medical events, hazardous materials response/mitigation, and routine requests for help or assistance. In the performance of their duties, the Volunteer Firefighter/EMT places equipment, lays and connects hose; operates high-capacity pumps and directs water streams; raises and climbs ladders; uses chemical extinguishers, safety belts, lines and hooks and uses self-contained breathing apparatus. The Volunteer Firefighter may enter a burning building as part of a fire suppression team, perform ventilation tasks above ground, carry heavy objects and equipment and rescue injured or trapped victims and performing other related work as assigned | Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old (We do offer a Junior Firefighter program for those 16-18) Must be a legal U.S. Citizen High school graduate or equivalent Must live within 10 miles of a Deep River Fire Department station Must possess a valid NC Drivers License Never pled guilty, no contest, or have been convicted of a felony Must not have had a suspension, revocation, or accumulated more than 8 points in the last three years | Categories: Firefighter
