The Skippack Fire Company is a 100% all volunteer organization, responding to 280 calls for service in 2018. The Skippack Fire Company operates out of one firehouse which provides primary fire and rescue protection to the residents, businesses of Skippack Township and those visiting and traveling through town. We are always looking for new members. Assist with feeding, cleaning, and caring for the cats at the rescue. Volunteers may also help with adoption events and other community outreach activities.

Volunteers assist with therapeutic horseback riding lessons for individuals with diverse disabilities. Responsibilities include grooming and tacking horses, leading the horse during lessons, and acting as a side aide to riders. Training is provided, and a commitment of at least one lesson per week is preferred.

Exterior Firefighters help establish a water supply at a fire scene as well as ladder a fire building and provide tools and other equipment to the crews operating inside. The Limerick Fire Department is always looking for members to volunteer and help our organization achieve its strategic objectives. Upon graduation, each certified canine therapy team is assigned a location to volunteer based on the dog's temperament and the handler's preferences. Volunteers work in schools, hospitals, and veteran facilities, providing support and companionship to those in need.

The RFD offers a number of opportunities to serve your community through the volunteer fire service, and much of it has nothing to do with firefighting. The fire service is not for everyone. You need more than just a desire to help people in order to succeed. You need courage, dedication, assertiveness, and an open mind to learn new skills and face new challenges. You will also need to have the time for training sessions, meetings, emergency responses, and various other functions. There are many other ways to assist your community through the RFD. These include Junior Firefighting, Recruitment, Fund-Raising, Record-Keeping, Financial Services and Community Service. The personal rewards and satisfaction received from the volunteer fire service give every member a sense of accomplishment when a goal is achieved. Assist with unloading trucks, moving and stacking pallets, organizing donations, and loading and unloading vehicles. Experience using a power pallet jack is preferred.

Help supply food to upwards of 60 pantries over 2 days. Volunteers assist with setting up, informing the pantries about item quantities, helping them find cold items, and loading their cars.

Assist in running events by manning booths, engaging with residents and visitors, and ensuring smooth event operations. Volunteers will be crucial in creating a welcoming and organized atmosphere.

Host and manage fundraising campaigns to raise awareness and funds for the foundation's initiatives. Engage with community members and encourage participation in fundraising activities.

Assist in organizing and managing fundraising events to support single-parent families. Responsibilities include setting up event spaces, welcoming guests, and ensuring smooth operations during events.

Administrative volunteers assist with clerical and reception duties, supporting the clinic's operations. A high comfort level with computers and proficiency in learning new software is required.

Volunteers in healthcare roles include physicians, nurses, and behavioral health counselors who provide medical services to patients. All clinical volunteers must have a current medical or clinical license applicable to their profession and must be 18 or older.
