The role of a Volunteer with your local Fire Department has always been recognized as one where you get up in the middle of the night or leave your house on a weekend, make a mad dash to the fire house to get your gear on, and climb on a truck to go assist a community member with an emergency. The history of Fire District 50 has always been this way. It even included the idea that if you worked in the community, you closed your business or had an agreement with your employer where you could leave for emergencies. Unfortunately over the years times have changed. We are looking for Men and Women who live within or outside of the district to volunteer with King Co. Fire Dist. 50 (K.C.F.D. 50) to assist with medical calls, fires, community events, and fire department support functions. K.C.F.D. 50 is primarily a volunteer fire department that covers about 25 miles of highway 2 from the Snohomish/King County line to the King/Chelan County line. We provide Fire, E.M.S., and Rescue services to our district that is roughly 140 square miles covering the community's of Baring, Grotto, Skykomish and Scenic as well as National Forest, Stevens Pass Ski area, Highway 2, and many other hazards. We also provide mutual aid with neighboring agency's, offer public education, and partake in community events. Requirements: | Requirements: 18 years of age Valid Drivers License High school Diploma If residing out side of the district it is preferred that you possess a minimum of IFSAC firefighter 1 and/or a valid EMT. To maintain membership we require a minimum 1 Tuesday nigh drill for a single cert (Firefighter or E.M.T.), 2 Tuesday night drills for a dual cert (Firefighter and E.M.T.), and a minimum of 12 hours of standby per-month either at the station or with 5 min of the station. | Categories: Firefighter, EMT, Other, Community Education, Department Support, Fundraising
