Volunteers are needed to help care for cats that stay in the kitty condos weekly at Pet Works in Morgantown. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, and socializing with the cats to ensure their well-being.

Lend a hand at the WVBG by preparing, planting, or transplanting in new or existing gardens, pruning, and invasive plant removal. Join individually or organize a group work-day to help with various hands-on projects.

Help make each WVBG event a success by assisting with planning activities, publicizing events, and organizing food. You can also help during the event by running activities, organizing crowds, and serving food.

Join the Garden Keepers on Thursday mornings during the busy season to help weed and maintain planting beds. This is a great opportunity to contribute regularly to the upkeep of the gardens.

Share your knowledge and enthusiasm with WVBG visitors by becoming a Group Tour Leader, Educational/Interpretive Walk Leader, or Children’s Program Leader. If you have a specific skill, you could also lead an Educational Workshop.

Provide temporary care for pets from a few days to two weeks. M4M supplies food, crates, and veterinary care while you provide a loving home.

Drive pets to and from vet appointments locally and assist with transport to Hagerstown, MD on Saturdays. M4M provides crates and gas reimbursement.

Photograph and video pets to promote them for adoption. Training on how to temperament test pets is provided.

Assist with morning kennel and litter box cleaning and provide socialization for cats throughout the day at PetSmart.

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown, volunteers play a vital role in helping keep families together during a difficult time. Volunteers must be 13 years or older and minors must be accompanied by an adult, contributing their time and energy to support families in need.

All training and certification costs are paid for by the department. | Requirements: New recruits must be able to pass background checks (this information is kept confidential and limited to members of our investigation committee only, regardless of determination). All new members will be expected to attend training to become certified at the Firefighter I level, or if unable to perform firefighting activities inside of a building, certified as a Driver/Operator, within 12-18 months of joining the department.
