Our department is comprised of members that do many different jobs. Some fight fires internally within structures. Others serve as important a role as pump operators, water supply, traffic details, etc. There are even members who are certified Emergency Medical Technicians and are a part of the First Response – Emergency Medical Services we provide. In addition to these roles, we have members who serve as graphic artists, event coordinators, and supply officers. There is a job for everyone! South Plattsburgh FD is a small department with a growing district. The Part-Time, On-Call Firefighter serves the community by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance. This work shall be done within the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s) of the Winooski Fire Department and City policy, within the following general categories: fire suppression, rescue, hazardous material responses, training, equipment and station maintenance. Provide housing for a company member for a week during the production season. This is a great way to support the arts and get to know the actors personally.

Assist with morning and evening shifts to care for the adoptable cats at the Queen City Cat Lounge.

Assist in creating and launching fundraisers and marketing materials for events to support Queen City Cats' mission.

Lead activities for various programs, helping participants engage with nature and learn new skills. Volunteers are encouraged to build relationships with participants and contribute to the dynamic flow of the program.

Create 'How To' videos, take photographs, or write blog posts to support the organization's outreach and educational efforts. Volunteers can also design their own projects to offer.
