The Norwich Fire Department is a paid on call (POC) department consisting of a part-time fire chief and approximately 29 POC members. The fire division has approximately 24 members, some of whom are EMTs that work in the EMS Division. The Department provides fire, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response (operations level) and rescue services. Emergency medical services are provided by the First Aid Stabilization Team (FAST) Squad and the Hanover Fire Department ambulance. The Fast Squad has 20 members (7 perform EMS duties only) trained at or above the EMT-Basic level. | Requirements: NFD members are part-time employees of the Town of Norwich.
