Chadwick Fire Protection District is continually looking for high quality volunteer firefighters. Firefighters in our district fight structure fires, provide medical first response, respond to motor vehicle collisions on the road and trail), fight wildland fires and go on search and rescue missions. Our district is 116 square miles, including 40,000 acres of the Mark Twain National forest, where we regularly rescue lost and injured cyclists in the Chadwick Motorcycle area, and assist the US Forestry service with wildland fires. We are available for state-wide mutual aid, particularly for wilderness search and rescue. | Requirements: Applicants must be 18+ years old and be physically capable of performing arduous physical tasks. Must be able to pass a background check. New firefighters are required to complete Basic Firefighter skills and Emergency Medical Responder within one year, along with HazMat awareness and ICS 100.
