The Cottekill Volunteer Fire Company is seeking six (6) highly motivated and physically fit individuals who can commit to the training demands and the duties described below. Performs firefighting duties such as extinguishing outside fires, drives fire apparatus, deploys & connects hoses, raises ladders, uses other firefighting techniques such as ventilating burning buildings from outside, rescuing trapped occupants of a motor vehicle accident, sets up scene lighting, performs rehab operations, assists interior firefighters with air bottle changes and filling of air bottles, assists incident commanders with scene safety, personnel accountability and communications, and responds and performs emergency medical assistance to the level of certified training. Participates in fire drills and attends training classes in apparatus operations, firefighting, first aid and other related subjects. Volunteer counselors are needed for the Family of Woodstock Hotline, the oldest emergency switchboard in the county. Volunteers will provide support and assistance to callers in need.

Flexible volunteer positions are available in a variety of roles to help keep the ReStore running smoothly. Volunteers clean, display and arrange merchandise, assist customers and staff members, help with loading, unloading and warehouse upkeep, repair gently used furniture, test & repair electronics/appliances, and prepare donated items for resale.
