Mentor students in the Sunapee Schools program, providing guidance and support to enhance their educational experience. Volunteers will work closely with students to foster learning and personal growth.

Assist in planning and organizing special events such as the Sock Hop at the Top, Movies Under the Stars, and Sunapee Village Christmas. Volunteers will help with logistics, coordination, and execution of events to ensure they run smoothly.

Help welcome new residents to Sunapee by preparing and delivering welcome baskets. Volunteers will gather items, assemble baskets, and deliver them to new community members.

Participate in efforts to manage and prevent the spread of invasive species in and around Otter Pond. Volunteers will help identify invasive species and assist in removal efforts.

Assist in the regular testing of water quality under the oversight of the NH Department of Environmental Services Voluntary Lake Assessment Program. Volunteers will help collect water samples and record data to monitor the health of Otter Pond.

Engage with the local community to promote awareness and involvement in the preservation of Otter Pond. Volunteers will help organize events and distribute educational materials.

Assist with monitoring and maintaining the John Hay Ecology, Carriage Road, Wildflower Loop, and Lake Loop Trails by clearing debris and managing overgrowth. This role is crucial for maintaining the estate's natural beauty.

Join our 'Weeding Wednesday Garden Crew' every Wednesday from 9:00am–12:00pm, April through October. Volunteers will engage in weeding, planting, and general garden care, with no experience needed as training and tools are provided.

Help with planning, event setup and breakdown, guest services, and more for signature and fundraising events. This role is essential for creating memorable experiences for the community.

Assist with preparing and installing rotating history and art exhibits in the Main House and gardens. Volunteers with experience in hanging artwork or staging exhibits are especially welcome.

Support building projects, repairs, and general upkeep throughout the property. This team is ideal for versatile, hands-on volunteers, meeting on Tuesday mornings from April through November.

Lead 45–60-minute tours of the 22-room Main House at 1:00pm, Wednesdays through Sundays, from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Docents receive full training and support from the Education Department.

Welcome visitors, answer questions, assist in the Welcome Center, and operate a short introductory film. Shifts are available from 10:00am–1:00pm or 1:00pm–4:00pm, Wednesdays through Sundays, from Memorial Day through Columbus Day.
