This is an unpaid opportunity to gain excellent experience in data management within our Youth & Family Services team from August-November 2024.

Help all of SCS’ programs by providing assistance with essential administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.

We connect teams of corporate volunteers to fun and meaningful volunteer experiences. We can work with you to find a volunteer opportunity that fits your team’s interests, skills, and availability.

Assist in preparing or serving meals in the Center for Active Older Adults, or teach a class on a topic that interests you. Help screen our members for benefits and entitlement programs, or provide assistance in our adult day services program for cognitively or physically impaired seniors.

Work with a corporate team to collect and stock items for a food pantry at a school, or organize a school supply, hygiene kit, or book drive.

Volunteer at Arts, Sports, and Wellness program events, such as the annual Step Competition or Spring Arts Showcase. Assist in organizing and managing event activities.

Visit a school or join virtually to speak to students about your education and career. Share experiences to motivate students to prepare for college and future careers, providing insights into different company roles.

Participate in Speed Mentoring to connect New York City public school students with professionals across various industries. Engage in mini-mentoring sessions to discuss high school, college, career paths, and life choices.

Lead a read aloud and book discussion in a classroom to build literacy among students. Volunteers are provided with reading comprehension and discussion questions.

Support the MFTA Education Center by assisting with workshops and educational programs. Volunteers will help set up materials, engage with participants, and ensure a smooth operation of events.

Assist in organizing and sorting materials in the MFTA warehouse. Volunteers will help with inventory management and ensure that materials are ready for distribution to arts and cultural programs.

Volunteers should be able to commit to a minimum of four hours per month (1 shift) over a six-month period. Responsibilities vary and may include Lobby Greeter, Membership Information Table, Museum Docent. Volunteers receive a complimentary year-long membership to the Museum, discounts at the Moving Image Store, and invitations to special events.

Join MEMS' volunteer network to support human trafficking survivors by partnering with grassroots organizers, legal professionals, social workers, and mental health professionals. Volunteers will contribute to programs and events that empower survivors and strengthen anti-trafficking movements.

Volunteers support event programmers by assisting with the setup and execution of various activities and events on the Open Street. This role ensures that events run smoothly and are enjoyable for all participants.

Volunteers help keep the street clean by picking up litter and ensuring the area remains welcoming and tidy for all visitors. This role supports the overall aesthetic and environmental goals of the Open Street.

Volunteers engage with the public, providing information about the Open Street and assisting with any inquiries. This role is vital for enhancing visitor experience and community interaction.

Volunteers are responsible for setting up and breaking down traffic barricades to ensure the safety and accessibility of the Open Street. This role is crucial for maintaining the pedestrian-friendly environment every weekend.

Assist with essential behind-the-scenes tasks such as grant writing, event planning, and community outreach. Volunteers can also help with communications, accounting, and partnership development.

Join us every Saturday morning from late April to late October to help with various gardening tasks. Volunteers can engage in activities such as composting, weeding, and organizing tools. No prior sign-up is needed; just show up and participate.

Support homeless teens in our summer sleepaway camp, engaging them throughout the year and empowering them for counselor and employment roles. Volunteer to organize supply drives, stage campers’ departure and set up at Camp Ramapo in Rhinebeck, New York.
