The firefighter is responsible for work performed in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires, and protection of life and property through firefighting activities and other duties. Duties also include other support services under close supervision of fire officers or other fire department members. Independent judgment is used according to the situation and sometimes-different courses of action must be considered to complete the task | Requirements: 1. Must have high school diploma or GED. 2. Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the State of TN without revocation or suspension for the last 36 months. 3. Must complete 16 hour Intro to Fire and Emergency Services before responding to emergency calls. 4. Must complete 64 hour Basic Firefighting course before engaging in interior firefighting operations and within 3 years. 5. Must be able to meet OSHA respiratory standard. 6. Volunteers at Camp Hope assist in providing a fun and safe environment for campers. Responsibilities include supervising activities, mentoring campers, and supporting camp operations. Volunteers serve as role models and help facilitate a device-free, Christ-centered experience.

Volunteers will assist in restoring authentic Appalachian habitats by participating in various community garden projects and workshops. Responsibilities may include planting, maintaining gardens, and eradicating invasive plants.

Participate in greenhouse care, transplanting, gardening, weeding, and harvesting activities. Volunteers will also assist with workshops or farm tours and engage in composting and soil care. No experience is necessary as training will be provided.
