We are looking for interior/exterior firefighters and fire police members. Members may join at 16 years old and become a junior member (exterior only). Once age 18 is reached, full membership is granted and member can choose whether to become interior certified, fire police, or remain exterior. The Mechanicstown Fire District spans 18 square miles and is comprised of two major highways, trains, an airport, and commercial, medical, agricultural, and residential properties. We average 500-600 calls per year, including: - Structure Fires - Technical Rescue - Motor Vehicle Accidents - Mutual Aid Assignments - Etc.
