We are looking for individuals who are strong, dedicated, and have a team player mentality. If you love helping people and want to serve your community, this is an opportunity worth taking. If your interests are in the medical field, you have the opportunity to achieve medical responder certification and assist us with serving our communities' medical needs.. If firefighting and extrication of patients from vehicles peaks your interest, we offer many training opportunities that can help you achieve your firefighter certification. If neither firefighting or the medical aspect of being on the department interests you there are always many other different ways you can help us. On traffic accidents we have a variety of tasks that need to be completed that do not involve firefighting, extrication, or medical care. We do community outreach in schools and daycares as a partnership with the Jackson County Fire Marshal's Office. We hold an open house each year, we host blood drives and we participate in community events like the Christmas parade, Fire Prevention Week Parade and WCU's Homecoming parade. Our membership is open to everyone. The only requirements are that you show up with a helping heart and the dedication to serve everyone in our community. We meet every Monday night at 7pm and some Thursday nights at the same time. Assist in the care and rehabilitation of horses with various lameness issues. Volunteers will help with daily horse care tasks, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring the health of the horses.

We are looking for motivated individuals that want to give back and serve their community. We find that most people don't even know they can volunteer at their local fire department. Depending on your capabilities there is a broad range of tasks that we can always use assistance with. Maybe firefighting isn't your thing.. then we can get you certified to respond to medical calls within the community, or you can serve as a support role for our active fire fighters, bringing us water and relief when we are on extended calls. There are so many opportunities to serve within our fire department, and the training you will receive is rewarding and very useful even in your day to day life.
