On traffic accidents we have a variety of tasks that need to be completed that do not involve firefighting, extrication, or medical care. We do community outreach in schools and daycares as a partnership with the Jackson County Fire Marshal's Office. We hold an open house each year, we host blood drives and we participate in community events like the Christmas parade, Fire Prevention Week Parade and WCU's Homecoming parade. Our membership is open to everyone. The only requirements are that you show up with a helping heart and the dedication to serve everyone in our community. We meet every Monday night at 7pm and some Thursday nights at the same time. Assist in the care and rehabilitation of horses with various lameness issues. Volunteers will help with daily horse care tasks, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring the health of the horses.

Help process ~600lbs of cat food every 2-3 months by grinding chicken thighs and livers with nutrients. Includes cleanup and requires about 5 hours of commitment.

Join the community to help trap cats for necessary vet care. Training and mentorship are provided until you are comfortable working independently.

Transport cats from Waynesville to the ASPCA and back. Requires a commitment of at least 2 transports per month.

Provide short-term accommodations for cats and kittens in need by allowing them to seek shelter in your home. All supplies and vet care are provided, and you simply provide food, fresh water, love, and attention.

Create and share social media content across Facebook and Instagram, requiring 5+ posts per week.

Visit cats at the Waynesville Petsmart adoption center to provide socialization and playtime. Includes basic cleanup and providing fresh food and water.

Write short stories about rescues to share with the social community, pulling content from a gallery of pictures.

Assist with monthly adoption events by setting up, tearing down, and helping during events by answering questions and guiding people through the adoption process.
