Tillamook Fire District provides fire & rescue services to the citizens of the City of Tillamook and surrounding rural communities. The district employs four (4) full-time career staff and utilizes volunteers and residents to supplement staffing. Career staffing includes the positions of Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, BC- Logistics, and BC - Training Officer. Career firefighters provide coverage during the normal 8-5 workday. Resident sleepers and volunteers provide coverage during the evening hours. | Requirements: The district provides the following to all Volunteers: • Workers Compensation Insurance • Stipend - Training • Stipend - Emergency Volunteers are not employees of the district and receive no additional compensation or benefits. Volunteer Firefighter positions open for all 6 stations. We provide the training you are required to have, to be a interior firefighter or even a EMR. We drill every Monday evening. Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is looking for 3 Resident Volunteers (RV). No experience is necessary. We will send you through a 3-month academy and to school to become an EMT. A Resident Volunteer lives at one of our 6 fire stations full time and pulls weekly 48-hour shift with the career crews, followed by 96 hours off. The Resident Volunteer Academy 24-01 will be from the end of March through the beginning of June. This will provide the RV with their basic Firefighting certifications. We offer free housing, electricity, water, sewer, and internet. We pay $400/ month in stipend for pulling shift and $90/ month stipend for calls off shift. We give $50,000 life insurance, pay $1,000 towards EMT school and give the time off to take the classes. Tuition reimbursement is available for other schooling. Air ambulance insurance is covered by the department, and ground ambulance insurance is soon to be covered. The Resident Volunteer is allowed to work during their days off or attend school.
