Help third-graders at Tomah's Miller Elementary School master reading skills as a Read to Success tutor with The Great Rivers United Way. Volunteers will work with students for 30-45 minutes each week during the school day, using selected books and fun reading-based activities to enhance their skills.

As a Read to Success tutor, you will help third-graders master reading skills at various elementary schools. Volunteers spend 30-60 minutes each week with one or two students, reading and engaging in literacy activities. Training and materials are provided to ensure a supportive environment.

Assist with the organization and execution of race events, including setting up the course, managing registration, and providing support to participants. Volunteers will also help with distributing t-shirts and goody bags, and ensuring the smooth operation of pre-race and post-race activities.

Oversee building and 4-H project areas during the Monroe County Fair. Volunteers will ensure exhibits are properly displayed and maintained.

Assist with setting up and cleaning up before and after events at the Monroe County Fair. Volunteers will help ensure the fairgrounds are ready for visitors and restored after events.

Assist with judging and clerking for 4-H exhibits at the Monroe County Fair. Certification may be required for judging roles.

Provide ice and beverage service to vendors and participants at the Monroe County Fair. Volunteers will ensure refreshments are available and distributed efficiently.

Sell and manage gate tickets for visitors entering the Monroe County Fair. Volunteers will handle transactions and provide information to attendees.

Manage and direct parking for visitors attending the Monroe County Fair. Volunteers will help ensure smooth traffic flow and assist visitors with parking directions.

Help with gardening and general yard maintenance to keep the shelter's outdoor spaces welcoming and pleasant. Volunteers must comply with a criminal and caregiver background check.

Set up table displays in the community, such as at fairs, and restock information as needed to raise awareness about domestic abuse and sexual assault. Volunteers must comply with a criminal and caregiver background check.
