Join student-led groups to engage in community service activities that give back to the local community. Volunteers will participate in various projects organized by the student clubs.

Participate in educational programs teaching children about respect, responsibility, and rescue of animals. Volunteers may also assist in the Bite Proofing program.

Provide a temporary home for animals in need. Supplies are provided by the organization, and volunteers provide love and care until the animals are adopted or transferred.

Establish contact with local grocery stores to collect pet food donations. Volunteers will pick up food donations and deliver them to the organization.

Assist with the intake and care of rescue animals, including assessing temperament, taking pictures, and giving shots. Volunteers will help ensure animals are ready for adoption.

Lead efforts to organize fundraising events and initiatives to support the organization's mission. This includes brainstorming event ideas and coordinating logistics.

Join the Yakima Valley Community Band as a musician to perform in various community celebrations and festivals. Musicians of all ages, from junior high school students to retirees, are welcome to participate and share their musical talents with the community.

Participate in the Community Investment Committee to help allocate funds to local non-profit organizations. Members review applications and make funding recommendations.

Assist in the Loaned Executive Program by supporting fundraising efforts and engaging with local businesses to promote United Way's mission. Volunteers will work closely with staff to achieve campaign goals.

Assist in surveying bumble bee nest populations and behavior throughout Washington. Volunteers will also educate the public about nest relocation options instead of exterminating inconvenient bumblebee nests.

Help organize and participate in events, potlucks, and outreach activities to promote the Yakima Selah Neighbors’ Network and engage the community.

Assist members with light yard work and occasional home tasks such as changing light bulbs or checking smoke detectors to maintain a safe living environment.

Call or visit members who may be homebound to combat loneliness and provide companionship through phone calls, visits, or as a walking buddy.

Assist students in navigating public and private resources to overcome barriers to success. Volunteers will work directly in the Yakima Valley school districts.
