Join over 75 University of Alabama students in performing music at retirement communities in Tuscaloosa. Volunteers will prepare 5-15 minutes of music and engage with audience members after the performance.

Assist in organizing and facilitating the Alabama Literacy Alliance Spring Literacy Retreat. Volunteers will help with event setup, participant registration, and guiding discussions to ensure a smooth and engaging retreat experience.

Volunteer Firefighters and EMT's are the backbone and face of our department. Volunteer Firefighters/EMT's respond to calls for service, such as structure fires, wildland fires, motor vehicle collisions, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents. Responsibilities include response to calls during periods of indicated availability, attendance to a weekly mandatory training on Monday evenings, as well as attendance to various community service events throughout the year, during periods of availability. | Requirements: Requirements include 18 years of age for participation in firefighting activities, 21 years of age to operate apparatus, be in good health, and are physically capable of carrying out firefighter functions. Auxiliary support members are the backbone of the fire department. For those who are unable to perform the duties of a volunteer firefighter, we welcome the assistance in non-firefighting roles. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicles, fire station improvements, filing of paperwork, maintaining fire equipment, and other miscellaneous duties. There are many tasks that must be completed to make a fire department run. Auxiliary members can also bring in special skills to the department that are possessed through hobbies or workplaces.
