This role provides a dedicated time for adult refugees who cannot attend regular ESL classes to practice their English. Volunteers help improve language skills and facilitate better integration into the community.

Vet students and vet techs are needed to administer vaccines and provide checkups during Sunday wellness clinics.

On June 3rd, 2023, UEFA members volunteered at the Twin Cities West Metro Asian Fair, where different ethnic groups presented their culture through musical performances, exhibits, cultural activities, and ethnic food. Volunteers supported the youth group, Hawthorn Orchard, in managing the activity booth.

Committee Chairs work under the direction of the Executive Director to oversee the work of committees comprised of MSCA members. Responsibilities include creating a SMARTIE-driven annual workplan, supervising volunteers, and collaborating with the Executive Director.

Community/Fundraiser Event Volunteers support events by selling items, answering questions, or overseeing activities like a kissing booth. Events help raise money and awareness.

Foster caregivers provide a small, safe-space and a willingness to bottle feed kittens on a regular schedule and care for them until weaned. The Bitty Kitty Brigade will provide all food, supplies, and vetting as well as comprehensive training.

Process volunteer applications and introduce new volunteers to their department leader via email. Advertise volunteer opportunities and provide support to volunteers with general questions or concerns.

Transport volunteers are responsible for safely transporting dogs to and from various locations. Volunteers must have a clean driving record and proof of insurance.

Coordinate corporate sponsorships to support the organization's mission. Related experience is required.

Assist in writing grants to secure funding for the organization's programs. Professional or commercial experience is preferred.

Event Transport Volunteers handle animals at adoption events, ensuring their foster animals are cared for during the event. Volunteers commit to a 2.5-3 hour time frame.

Transport Volunteers assist with animal transportation for intake and appointments. Volunteers help move animals between foster homes, vet appointments, and the office.

Volunteers are needed to transport dogs to and from the vet, groomer, or a new foster home. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being and timely care of the dogs.

Puppy Party Volunteers attend events to help guests interact with puppies. Responsibilities include setup, cleanup, and transporting supplies or puppies.

Volunteers are assigned to specific committees to execute projects and tasks from the annual committee workplan. Responsibilities include participating in the Summer MSCA Leadership Development Institute and assisting with the Annual MSCA Conference.

Skills-based volunteers can help with graphic design, bookkeeping, social media, grant-writing, event planning, and more. Transporters are also needed to provide transport for kittens to and from their foster home.
