Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department is actively recruiting men and women for openings as a Paid on Call Firefighter. This is a part time position, which involves responding to calls for emergencies when you are available. No fire training is necessary! We will provide the training for you to become a certified Firefighter and a licensed Medical First Responder. This job does require quite a bite of commitment, but can be a very rewarding job, with opportunities for career advancement. Deliver nutritious meals and a warm smile to homebound adults aged 60 and older. Volunteer shifts typically occur Monday through Friday between 10 AM and 1 PM, with some routes varying.

Become a 'Day Coach' mentor to support an Edgewood Elementary student in their educational journey. Volunteers will provide one-on-one mentorship, helping students with their academic and personal growth.

Assist in staffing and maintaining school libraries and media centers in Muskegon Heights. Volunteers will help organize materials and support students in accessing educational resources.

Participate in training sessions to help shelter dogs learn basic commands and improve their adoptability. Volunteers will work under the guidance of experienced trainers.

Assist with cleaning and maintaining kennels for both cats and dogs to ensure a healthy and hygienic environment for the animals.

Assist with the care, walking, and socialization of dogs at the shelter. Volunteers will help ensure dogs are well-exercised and comfortable with human interaction.

Provide care and socialization for cats at the shelter, ensuring they are comfortable and ready for adoption. Volunteers will engage with cats to help them adjust to human interaction.

Assist with welcoming and serving guests at the Driftwood Discount Dine program, a restaurant-style dining experience. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4 PM to 6 PM at 560 Seminole Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49444.

Assist in maintaining the Musketawa Trail by participating in clean-up activities, repairing trail sections, and ensuring the trail is safe for all users. Volunteers will work under the guidance of experienced trail coordinators.
