Whether it’s an educational hike, a water research training day, or a special fundraiser, volunteers can help with registration, equipment handling, food, and clean-up.

As part of Wisconsin’s Water Action Volunteer (WAV) program, volunteers will be trained and work with community members who want a hands-on experience in caring for our area streams and rivers.

Staffing the Museum booth at the Vernon County Fair can be fun and educational. This role involves engaging with fair attendees, providing information about the Historical Society, and promoting our activities.

More of an organizational type? We can always use help getting organized. This role involves assisting with the organization of historical artifacts and maintaining the cleanliness of our four historic buildings.

Maybe you're more outgoing and would like to give Museum tours for school groups or at the Sherry-Butt House. This role involves leading tours and educating visitors about the historical significance of the sites.

We also need people to act a part in the annual Cemetery Walk, or lend a hand with special events such as the Strawberry Shortcake Social. This role involves participating in events and helping with various tasks to ensure their success.

Are you interested in Committee work? We have many committees to choose from, including Capital Campaign, Membership, Parade Committee, Program Committee, and the Tour of Homes. This role involves participating in committee meetings and contributing to the planning and execution of various projects.

Assist in various roles during the Driftless Music Festival, including setup, coordination, and helping attendees. Volunteers are crucial to the festival's success and community engagement.

Assist with the preparation and serving of woodfired pizzas during Friday Pizza Farm Nights. Volunteers will also help with setting up and cleaning up the event space.

Participate in the Annual Roadside Cleanup as part of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Earth Day events. Volunteers will help pick up trash along the roads between the Visitor Center and Hwy P.

Help clean up after the event and get the farm back in shape. Tasks may include dismantling tents and stages, picking up trash, and restoring the grounds.

Assist with preparing the grounds before the event to ensure everything is set up correctly. Tasks may include setting up tents, stages, and other infrastructure.

Work during LarryFest to ensure that everyone attending has a great time. Tasks may include helping with ticketing, guiding attendees, and assisting with stage management.
