We Need You! Don’t Delay, Join Today! We are always looking for volunteer Firefighters and EMTs. The Junior Firefighter/EMT program begins at 16 years of age. Full membership eligibility begins at 18 years of age. When am I on duty? Members have a variety of duty options and shifts, with primary coverage needed during weeknights, weekends, and weekend nights. We have bunk rooms, as well as comfortable facilities for studying, sleeping, cooking and relaxing when not on calls. Do I get paid? Trained volunteer firefighters and EMTs are available to participate in our monthly stipend program. Depending on your activity level, you may be eligible for a monthly stipend between $50 and $800. What training will I receive? Evesham Fire-Rescue will provide Firefighter and/or Emergency Medical Technician certification through one of our local fire and EMS academies. Training courses are available during the evening hours and on weekends. All tuition, equipment, and safety gear is provided by the department. Required training for a firefighter consists of approximately 125 hours of basic firefighting techniques including; fire behavior, rescue, salvage, overhaul, ladder practices, ventilation, firefighting tactics, water supply and more. Required training for an Emergency Medical Technician consists of a 240 hour state certification course which includes ambulance operations, CPR, bandaging, splinting, oxygen delivery, patient assessment, and more. These classes are usually held two nights during the week over a four month period. | Requirements: We are always looking for volunteer Firefighters and EMTs. The Pine Hill Fire Department is actively seeking personnel for recruitment as firefighters. Requirements for the volunteer position of FIREFIGHTER RECRUIT: • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application • Be of good health • Possess a valid driver’s license • No previous training required • Participation in the duty crew program (minimum of one shift per week) to ensure station staffing Once a member has attained specific levels of training and experience through the set course path, they are eligible to participate in any and all of the duties and functions of a firefighter. Some of the general duties that one could expect to perform as a volunteer firefighter include: • Fire suppression • Rescue of victims trapped by fire or motor vehicle accident • Assist in treatment of victims experiencing medical or traumatic emergencies • Driving and maintaining emergency vehicles • Providing various public assistance, investigation and educational services The Pine Hill Fire Department has four different membership options that each have a different degree of time commitment and basic level of training: With all active members the basic level of training is Firefighter 1 and Vehicle Extraction. If you do not have these certifications and wish to join please contact the membership email above about your interest. No previous experience is required to join. • In town active membership: members are required to respond to all emergencies from their home, responding to the firehouse and then responding on the fire apparatus. • Duty Crew active membership: members are required to respond to emergencies from in-station for 1 8-hour shift each week. • Live-in active membership: members live in the firehouse and respond to all emergencies while in station. Similar to duty crew membership but live-ins are required to be in station between 40-60 hours per week. • Associate membership: members support active firefighting members will administrative roles, fundraising, and special events. Commitment is to attend special events throughout the year.
