The Adult Literacy Program matches adults with a one-on-one tutor to improve skills in various topics. Tutors meet with students twice a week for 60-minute sessions and participate in orientation and training sessions.

Volunteers support the BMAC Food Bank by participating in food distributions, delivering food, assembling food boxes, and organizing food drives. They provide critical services to food-insecure community members.

Certified Ombuds volunteers advocate for residents in long-term care facilities, ensuring quality care and preventing neglect. They receive extensive free training and support.

Volunteers work with the Walla Walla Asset Building Coalition to provide financial literacy and empowerment education. They participate in monthly meetings and outreach projects as their time allows.

Help feed homebound seniors by volunteering as a Meals on Wheels driver. You can make a huge difference in their day as sometimes the only human contact these seniors have is with their driver.

Spend time with Adult Day Services participants or enrich their day through presentations, music, or storytelling. Flexible hours available for volunteers.

Assist during lunch by helping clients move around, clearing tables, and keeping areas clean. Enjoy interacting with clients while you work.

Assist in preparing meals for the nutrition program by chopping ingredients and packing cookies and breads. Volunteers must be 14 or older and have a WA Food Handlers card.

Assist with special projects such as events, mailings, gardening, and other tasks as needed. Opportunities vary based on current needs.

Respond to emergencies including wildland fires. May also respond to structure fires, medical emergencies, rescues, motor vehicle collisions, and much more. | Requirements: To apply, you must meet the following minimum requirements: 1. Be at least 18 years of age. 2. Have a valid State Drivers License. 3. Have no felony convictions within the last seven (7) years that could interfere with your work as a firefighter. 4. Have an insurable driving record. 5. Be able to read and write the English language. 6. Reside within five (5) miles of a District fire station. 7. Assist in the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of horses in need. Volunteers will help with the care and training of horses, ensuring they are healthy and ready for adoption into loving homes.

Participate in organizing and running low-cost gelding clinics. Volunteers will assist with clinic setup, coordination with veterinarians, and support horse owners during the clinic.
