Working under direct supervision, and while operating in a team environment, responds to and assists in a variety of emergency and non-emergency situations including structures, transportation, wild lands and medical emergencies. Performs emergency equipment maintenance and performs routine station maintenance duties. Performs community fire and injury prevention responsibilities. This will be an entry level position within our department. Responsibilities are to obtain the training needed to respond to emergencies within the fire district. This training can be obtained through in house trainings, meetings, NC community college system, or on the job training. This position is allowed to respond to emergencies within our district. | Requirements: 18 years of age for Firefighters, live with 5 miles of the district boundary, Must pass an acceptable criminal background check, drug/alcohol screening and driving record check. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS No previous training or experience is necessary. All personnel are required to complete a minimum number of training hours annually according to the individual’s position and level of responsibility within the department. Required training is hosted by the department and other similar institutions throughout the state; fees for required training may be reimbursed by the department upon successful completion of the training if reimbursement funds are available. Assist instructors during dance classes by helping with setup, engaging with participants, and ensuring a smooth class experience. Volunteers should be enthusiastic about dance and willing to support both instructors and participants.

Activity Volunteers support various 4-H events, acting as judges or leading groups during specific activities.

Special Interest Instructors lead short-term educational programs on various topics such as sewing, woodworking, and horticulture. They prepare materials and determine class size and age limits.

Club Supporters assist club leaders in managing 4-H clubs by supporting planning, conducting, and evaluating meetings and activities.

Judges are needed for 4-H competitive events to provide feedback and evaluate youth work in areas such as sewing, talent, and photography.

Advisory Board Members guide and support the 4-H program, working with local staff to plan and implement activities.

Club leaders meet with their club once or twice a month, coordinating activities and managing the club's operations. Responsibilities include leading educational programs, organizing field trips, and planning community service activities.

Help pack trays for children and seniors in the Community Meals kitchen. Volunteers are needed nearly every day to assist with meal preparation and packaging, ensuring that nutritious meals are delivered to those in need.

Seasonal volunteers are needed to help tend to the Fitzgerald Teaching Garden. This role involves planting, weeding, and harvesting produce that will be used in community meals.

Assist with inspecting donations in the warehouse. Volunteers will help sort and organize food items to ensure they are ready for distribution to partner agencies.

Quality Control takes place after a bed build day. Volunteers check if the bed kits have the correct amount of screws and if they are tightened correctly, ensuring success for the delivery teams. Warehouse training is required.

On delivery days, volunteers assist in loading the inventory to take to the children. Once at the delivery location, volunteers will assemble the beds in the child’s room and make the beds. Volunteers may also read one of the new books to the children once the beds have been assembled.

Staging duties involve pulling all of the needed inventory for upcoming deliveries. This ensures that on delivery day, volunteers can quickly load and transport items to the children. Warehouse training is required.

Support the creation of a food forest at Forest Park Elementary's teaching garden by assisting with planting and maintaining native plants and perennials. Volunteers will help in creating a sustainable ecosystem that benefits the school and local community.

On bed build days, volunteers work to assemble beds into 'bed kits'. This process makes it easier and quicker to assemble in the homes during delivery days.

Assist with organizing and managing community events and fundraisers to support animal welfare initiatives. Volunteers will engage with the public and help promote the organization's mission.
