This certified position serves a vital role in our response team. Our department is a recognized PA Department of Health Quick Response Service (QRS), and we are dispatched automatically with our local EMS agency to patients reported to be unconscious or in respiratory or cardiac arrest. We also respond whenever requested by EMS and routinely respond on all calls during severe winter weather. | Requirements: As QRS calls must be handled expeditiously, we rely on the swift response of certified responders. You must be certified by the state of PA as a Emergency Medical Responder or higher certification. We also require you to maintain CPR training that is no more than two years old. We train most Monday evenings starting at 6:30 PM. As each response is unique, there are opportunities for volunteers of all skill levels and abilities to assist. We will work within your limitations to maximize your time investment in the community.
