The Washington Fire Department and FAST Squad are looking for members to fill the roles of Firefighter or EMT. The all-volunteer department covers primary response to The Town of Washington and a portion of the Town of Orange, along with mutual aid responses to neighboring towns. The Department provides fire, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and rescue services. Emergency medical services are provided by the First Aid Stabilization Team (FAST) Squad with patient transport provided by Barre Town EMS or First Branch Ambulance (Chelsea). The Washington Fire Department averages 50 calls annually, and FAST Squad averages 125 responses. | Requirements: No previous firefighting or EMS experience is required. Skilled trades volunteers assist with odd jobs requiring expertise in areas such as carpentry, welding, machining, and small engine mechanics. Volunteers with specialty skills are encouraged to apply.

The Thetford Volunteer Fire Department is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted to provide fire and ems response to the Town of Thetford. We are a highly trained organization that provides fire suppression, emergency medical service, hazardous materials response (operations level) and specialized rescue services. In addition, we provide extrication response for 3 neighboring towns in addition to Thetford and a variety of mutual aid services such as Firefighter rehab and medical monitoring, technical rescue and wilderness response. We are a diverse organization with a commitment to an inclusive team environment.
