The Wild Rose Area Fire District has two levels of active membership, Active Members, full privileges of the fire department and Cadet Members, age 14 to 18 that have no vote and limitation on activities. No previous training or experience is required to become a member but is recommended. The Wild Rose Area Fire District will provide the appropriate guidance and training for the new members as necessary. Once accepted into the Wild Rose Area Fire District there is a one (1) year probationary period. This is a time for the department to evaluate you and for you to evaluate the department. It is also required within one year from date of hire (with the option of an extension due to class availability) that you complete the needed training (Firefighter 1 and/or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and become NIMS compliant. You are required to participate as much as possible during this time so that you understand what type of commitment is involved with being a volunteer. Join our team of dedicated volunteers to help care for and support the displaced pets at Waushara County Animal Shelter. Volunteers are crucial to our operations and assist with various tasks to improve the lives of animals in our care.

Assist in providing shelter and support to guests at our Warming Center from November 1st through April 30th. Volunteers will help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.

Help manage and organize donations at our thrift store. Volunteers will assist with sorting, pricing, and displaying items to support our programs and services.

Provide administrative support in our main office. Duties include answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting with various office tasks.

Hospice volunteers provide comfort and support to patients in their final days. Volunteers visit with patients, offering companionship and emotional support, aiming to be a bright spot in their day.

Assist at the Middleton House Resource Center, providing support and resources to women in need. Volunteers will help with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the center.

Volunteer at one of our sites to promote academic success of those we serve. Looking for individuals to tutor, provide homework help, and/or read with youth!

Seeking adult mentors who have 2-4 hours per month to give! Time will be spent individually, or in a small group, spending quality time with youth playing board games, baking, creating art, and/or supporting academics. A strong desire to support youth in becoming the best version of themselves and ability to have fun are required.

Our Club is a community leader in fulfilling basic needs for youth and families in our area through various programs including Operation Backpack, Coats for Kids, Thanksgiving Meals, and Adopt a Family. Each of these programs rely on community volunteers to help make each program a success and enable us to reach as many youth as possible.

Our Club is open to community volunteers for 3 of our 4 major events- Drivin’ Fore the Club, The Duel, and Wearin’ & Sharin’ the Green.

Assist in picking up donations from various locations. Requires a vehicle like a truck or van for transporting goods.

Assist clients in selecting food items and guide them through the pantry. This role involves direct interaction with clients.

Manage the registration desk, welcoming clients and ensuring they have the necessary documentation for food distribution.

Assist in loading bags of food, eggs, milk, and other items into carts for clients. Volunteers should be able to lift and carry bags.
