Meet, greet, and check volunteers into their assigned areas during the festival.

Prepare and serve desserts, Irish Coffee, coffee, and tea, clean tables, or cashier at these festival favorites.

Serve beer, wine, or soda to thirsty fest-goers. Volunteers who sign up to serve beer may end up on a waitlist. This position is only available to those 21 and older.

Able-bodied, assertive volunteers are needed to work the festival entrance gates. Volunteers are mostly needed for late night shifts. Sign up to work Sunday morning before Mass, 7:30-11 a.m., and your duties will be done by the time the gates open for the festival that day.

Help run our year-round programming, including concerts, lectures, Family Day in the Village, and the Chuck Ward Memorial Blood Drive. We are always in need of enthusiastic volunteers to support these events.

If you are a knowledgeable lover of Irish culture, you may be able to volunteer in our Cultural Village area, sharing your passion and knowledge with festival attendees.

Sell CDs from our entertainment acts in one of the several Music Marts on the festival grounds or sell Milwaukee Irish Fest merchandise in the Irish Fest booth located within the festival grounds marketplace.

Set up takes place the week before Milwaukee Irish Fest begins. We need able-bodied volunteers who are willing to help set up during weekday hours. Take down happens all in one day, the Monday following Milwaukee Irish Fest.

Supervise children and help with fun crafts and games that expose them to Irish culture, storytelling, music, and more. Background checks are required for all volunteers in this area.

Storekeepers greet visitors on Saturday mornings in the summer, sell treats, and offer information about the Wauwatosa Historical Society and the building.

Promote the organization’s mission, activities, and initiatives through strategic social media management, compelling content marketing, graphic design support, and event planning support.

Gardeners help with pruning, planting, and maintenance of annuals, perennials, and shrubs throughout the grounds.

Docents lead tours of the house and share its history. Tours are scheduled throughout the year.

Our facilities require regular vacuuming, dusting, and arranging for rentals and tours. Volunteers are also needed for occasional repairs and maintenance.

Rental attendants for the Little Red Store are responsible for opening the building, turning on the lights, and if necessary, adjusting the thermostat, and arranging the tables. At the close of the contracted time, attendants must return to complete some final clean-up tasks and lock up.

Volunteers work in the research library on Wednesdays helping library visitors, preparing materials, researching genealogical queries, and organizing the library.

Rental attendants are responsible for opening the house, greeting renters, ensuring they have cleaned the space at the conclusion of their rental, and then locking up. You are required to stay on location for the duration of the rental, but you’ll have access to the office for quiet space where you can pass the time.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of events including our speaker series, experience history series, premier events like Firefly Art Fair, and more! Volunteer opportunities range from event planning and sponsorship package development to day-of support activities.

Volunteers organize, prepare, and store objects, including textiles, documents, and photographs.

Write, design, or edit the quarterly newsletter which showcases historical articles and promotes Wauwatosa Historical Society activities.
