Volunteers care for rescued cats temporarily staying in cat condos at PETSMART Blakeney. Duties include socializing with the cats, replenishing food and water, and cleaning litter boxes. Volunteers typically work once a week for 1 to 2 hours.

Volunteers are needed to help with meet and greet events at PETSMART Blakeney or other local events. Responsibilities include overseeing events, answering public questions, handling rescued animals, and assisting with event setup and cleanup.

Volunteers are needed to help feed baby songbirds during the 2025 Baby Bird Season. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and commit to recurring shifts for the duration of the season.

Assist with various backstage roles such as costumes, sewing, props, set construction, set painting, stage management, and running crew. Volunteers may also operate lights and sound equipment.

Help manage front of house activities including ushering, box office, concessions sales, hanging posters, answering phones, and assisting with mailings.

Promote and maintain CWR's online presence to maximize impact and reach. Use social media to promote activities, encourage engagement, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Visit schools and community events to educate the public about wildlife, CWR's mission, and environmental awareness. Ideal for those studying environmental studies or interested in public speaking.

Assist with transporting injured or orphaned animals to veterinary appointments, sanctuary, or release sites. Volunteers may be tagged for nearby animals in need via a dedicated Facebook group.

Aid CWR in securing funding opportunities by exploring grants, making thank you calls to donors, and researching fundraising avenues. A specialized role for those interested in financial support activities.

Provide assistance to finders of orphaned and injured animals from home. Volunteers arrange referrals, provide wildlife advice, and organize transport to CWR. Requires a computer and internet connection.

Volunteers with professional or technical skills such as photography, grant writing, or computer knowledge are encouraged to contribute to the organization's needs.

Horse leaders are responsible for leading horses during lesson time, warming up the horse for class, and ensuring the safety of both equine and rider. Volunteers receive training prior to starting.

Barn Help volunteers provide special horse and stall care, enhancing their horse handling skills. Participation requires attending a Barn Orientation.

Sidewalkers work directly with riders, providing physical, emotional, and social support during lessons. They help riders stay on task and ensure a safe and enjoyable ride.

Volunteers help plan and implement fundraising and special events, offering creative opportunities to engage the community and garner support.

Volunteering for school, church, or community requirements is a great way to give back, with opportunities available across various projects.

Provide a temporary home for dogs and cats until they are adopted. Volunteers are responsible for the daily care and well-being of the animals, including feeding, grooming, and socializing.
