The Pemberville-Freedom Fire Department (PFFD) provides Fire and EMS to the Village of Pemberville, Freedom Township and Parts of Webster Township in Wood County Ohio, covering a total 43 sq. miles. The Pemberville-Freedom Fire Department consists of 50 part-time and paid per call members that includes the Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, (4) Captains and (2) Lieutenants. The Pemberville-Freedom Fire Department provides a day crew shift that works from 0800 to 1700. The day crew normally consists of a Paramedic Firefighter and an EMT Firefighter. All day crew personnel are required to maintain a minimum Firefighter I certification and a EMS certification of EMT-Basic but many are certified at an ALS (advanced life support) level. The quality of fire protection available to the citizens of the coverage area is evaluated by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). The insurance industry relies on ISO to determine insurance rates for business, industry, and homeowners. The Pemberville-Freedom Fire Department has earned an ISO Class 5 rating. Help with the Haunted Waterville event by registering guests, assisting with setup or teardown, selling T-shirts, and greeting guests. Volunteers will also introduce presenters and provide information about the event.

Assist with the Ghostly Encounters event at Wakeman Cemetery by helping with setup, teardown, and ticket sales. Volunteers will also greet guests and provide information about the event.

Assist in the planning and execution of the Annual Christmas Dinner. Responsibilities may include organizing the event, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring a smooth event experience for attendees.

Volunteers are needed for various areas during the Roche de Boeuf Festival, including setup, cleanup, serving as museum docents, and assisting with crafts. This is a one-day commitment on the 4th Saturday of September.

The Allen-Clay Joint Fire District is accepting applications for part-paid Firefighters and EMTs. You do not need to currently have any certifications to join, ACJFD will provide all necessary training for certifications. Probationary - Personnel that do not have certifications yet, or have certifications but are new to the ACJFD. Personnel that have certifications have a probationary period of one year.
