C. Ventilate buildings by opening windows and skylights or by cutting holes in roofs and floors. D. Perform rescue operations. E. Perform salvage operations by placing salvage covers, sweeping water, and removing debris. F. Participate in drills and attend courses in fire prevention, suppression, and rescue techniques. G. Perform assigned inspection duties. H. Drive and operate fire apparatus under special instructions and limited conditions. I. Relay instructions, orders, and information and give locations of alarms to responding companies. J. Perform general maintenance work in the upkeep of fire department apparatus, equipment, and property. K. Perform related work as required. | Requirements: 1. Ability to learn the location of streets, the nature and location of hazardous premises, principal buildings, fire alarm reporting equipment, and fire hydrant or other water source locations. 2. Ability to climb ladders. 3. Ability to learn a wide variety of firefighting duties. 4. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 5. Skill in operating a motor vehicle. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the department, community officials, and the general public. 7.
