The Fillmore Fire Department is an all volunteer department. We are currently seeking Firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders. Members also assist in a variety of fund raisers throughout the year. | Requirements: Firefighter training consists of 100 hours of training through the local technical college. In house training is conducted on the third and fourth Monday nights of the month. Emergency Medical Responder training consists of 64 hours of training through the local technical college. In house training is conducted on the first Monday of each month. Re-certification is required every two years, this consists of 24 hours of training through the local technical college. Campbellsport Fire Dept
Firefighting requires skill in combating and extinguishing fires, in answering calls, and in operating and maintaining fire department equipment, apparatus, and quarters. The position involves training in the operation of apparatus, tools and equipment, performance of hazardous tasks under emergency conditions, which may require strenuous exertion under such handicaps as smoke and cramped surroundings, and in the inspection of buildings for fire hazards to prevent fires from starting. This work is performed at a professional level in the fields of fire prevention, suppression, rescue, training, and public fire safety education. Nature: Under the direct supervision of a company officer, perform such duties and activities as may be required by the codes and ordinances, state statutes, and Standard Operating Guidelines of the fire department. The following are duties which may be required by a member of CFD but may not be limited to: A. Attend training courses, read and study assigned materials related to fire prevention, suppression, and rescue. B. Respond to alarms according to the department operating guidelines; lay and connect hose, maneuver nozzles, and direct fire streams; raise and climb ladders, use extinguishers, protective breathing apparatus, and forcible entry tools. C. Ventilate buildings by opening windows and skylights or by cutting holes in roofs and floors. D. Perform rescue operations. E. Perform salvage operations by placing salvage covers, sweeping water, and removing debris. F. Participate in drills and attend courses in fire prevention, suppression, and rescue techniques. G. Perform assigned inspection duties. H. Drive and operate fire apparatus under special instructions and limited conditions. I. Relay instructions, orders, and information and give locations of alarms to responding companies. J. Perform general maintenance work in the upkeep of fire department apparatus, equipment, and property. K. Perform related work as required. | Requirements: 1. Ability to learn the location of streets, the nature and location of hazardous premises, principal buildings, fire alarm reporting equipment, and fire hydrant or other water source locations. 2. The Random Lake Fire Department is currently looking for motivated individuals that have strong interests in becoming firefighters and EMT’s. We currently have a roster with 55 dedicated members that are skillfully trained to serve our community. Our fleet is comprised of one engine, ladder, jaws truck, grass truck, Utv, boat, tender, rescue squad, two ambulances, and a SUV. In 2023 our fire department responded to approximately 50 calls and our ambulance responded to approximately 338 calls. Our call volume has been steadily rising and the need for staffing has risen.
