Our hikes throughout the year to Catskill peaks and other destinations are led by an all-volunteer group of experienced hikers. New leaders are welcome to join and lead hikes, offering guidance and support to fellow hikers.

Join the 3500 Trailhead Steward Program to engage with visitors, promote Leave No Trace principles, share relevant regulations, and communicate other pertinent information. This role helps improve the sustainability of the parks’ lands and promotes safe hiking.

Volunteers are needed to attend meetings and help monitor outside activities affecting the Catskill Forest Preserve. This role involves working closely with other organizations on conservation efforts.

Assist with planning and arrangements for the Annual Dinner meeting each year. Collaborate with the committee chair on various tasks.

Provide trained volunteer ground-search services and participate in Wilderness First Aid courses. Requires extensive training and readiness for challenging conditions.

Contribute to the quarterly newsletter, The Catskill Canister, by writing short stories and news items of interest to club members. This role involves writing and research skills.

The 3500 Club maintains the Peekamoose-Table Trail and schedules maintenance outings twice a year. Volunteers also participate in Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup on Route 214. This role involves physical work to help maintain and conserve the trails.

Assist in technical areas such as set-building, lighting, props, costumes, and stage management. Experience is welcomed but not necessary; enthusiasm is highly valued.

Volunteers assist with the Family of Woodstock hotline/textline, providing support and aid to individuals facing various issues. This role involves active listening and connecting people with necessary resources.

Participate in a 40-hour training to assist with Family's phone and texting hotline and walk-in services, covering topics such as domestic violence, child abuse, mental health, and homelessness.

Our construction volunteers work alongside our Build Manager and partner families. Tasks can include framing, siding, drywall, painting, trim, tilework, punchlist, clean-up or landscaping. No construction experience necessary.

Flexible volunteer positions are available in a variety of roles to help keep the ReStore running smoothly. Volunteers clean, display and arrange merchandise, assist customers and staff members, help with loading, unloading and warehouse upkeep, repair gently used furniture, test & repair electronics/appliances, and prepare donated items for resale.

Anyone wishing to help people in need, please consider getting qualified to drive the ambulance and taking some ambulance duty time at night to assist the EMTs and Paramedics doing their miracle work of assisting the sick and injured to the hospital. Participate in the Red-K Reading Lounge, a traveling program that brings diverse stories to children in libraries, organizations, and schools. Volunteers will engage with children, assist in storytelling, and manage activities.

Assist in organizing and managing the MyKingstonKids Fest & Children’s Day Parade, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Volunteers will help with event setup, coordination, and participant engagement.

Support the Photography Now! Teen Program by assisting with photography lessons and workshops. Volunteers will help students learn the history and technical aspects of photography.
