The Westbrook Fire Rescue Department is a progressive combination agency (staffed with full-time, per-diem and call company members). We currently have a need for additional call firefighters and fire police staff. Call firefighters supplement the on-duty crews at larger incidents such as structure fires, vehicle extrications, hazardous materials incidents, storm coverages and special call-backs. Fire Police staff primarily assist with traffic and crowd control at these incidents but may also assist with other specialty details such as parades and other large mass gatherings. No experience necessary - other than a good attitude and a desire to learn. We will provide you with all the training and equipment required to be successful in this position. | Requirements: All applicants must be a team player and interested in working with a motivated team to serve our community. Participate in river stewardship activities, including clean-up efforts to maintain and improve the natural environment of the Presumpscot River. Help preserve the river's ecosystem and beauty.

Assist in organizing and coordinating events to support the mission of Friends of the Presumpscot River. Engage with the community to raise awareness and participation in river restoration activities.

Participate in pop-up volunteer events for tasks such as cleaning storage or last-minute costume construction. Ideal for those with occasional free afternoons or evenings.

Assist with various roles in our main-stage productions, including show director, costume, set and prop designers/coordinators, social media & marketing, and box office manager & staff. Some positions may include a modest honorarium.

Contribute to research projects and assist in writing reports and articles that support the organization's initiatives. Help communicate the importance of river restoration and conservation efforts.

Provide temporary homes for rescued Pekingese dogs, ensuring they receive necessary care and attention. Volunteers will be responsible for the daily care of the dogs, including feeding, grooming, and administering any required medications.

Assist in providing comprehensive orientation sessions to help immigrants integrate into the community. Volunteers will support the delivery of information on local resources, cultural norms, and essential services.

Help immigrants understand and manage their finances by providing education on credit and debt management. Volunteers will conduct workshops and one-on-one sessions to improve financial literacy.

Support community health initiatives by assisting with outreach and education on health-related topics. Volunteers will engage with community members to promote health awareness and access to healthcare services.

Assist in educating immigrants on tenant rights and responsibilities. Volunteers will help conduct workshops and provide resources to ensure successful and informed tenancy.

Provide administrative support to the organization by assisting with office tasks, data entry, and communication with community members. Volunteers will help ensure the smooth operation of daily activities.

Help support children in need by volunteering at the Diaper Bank, which distributes diapers and wipes to families. Tasks include packaging, labeling, sorting diapers, and delivering them to clients experiencing diaper need.

Engage with the community by volunteering for various cultural, educational, and social programs at the JCA. Opportunities include greeting visitors, managing events, or teaching classes in your area of expertise.

Join the JCA's Wednesday Service Series, a hands-on volunteering opportunity that connects you with local nonprofit organizations. Volunteers will assist with various tasks such as sorting donated goods and preparing supplies, making a meaningful impact in the community while representing the JCA's mission.

Volunteer greeters assist with setting up and tearing down for dance events. They help welcome attendees and ensure the event runs smoothly. In return, greeters receive two free dance sessions.

Join the International Cryptozoology Museum as an educational and scientific docent. Volunteers will engage with visitors, share knowledge about cryptozoology, and assist with museum operations. Open-minded and intelligent individuals are encouraged to apply.

Join our team of dedicated volunteers to help care for rescued wolves, wolf hybrids, and wolfdogs. Volunteers assist with daily care, maintenance, and educational outreach programs to support the sanctuary's mission.

Help prepare a meal and dine with residents who are treated for mental health and substance use challenges. This opportunity can be done once or as a recurring visit and is great for groups of 2-4.

Help with cleaning, gardening, and painting facilities. This opportunity is suitable for small to large groups of volunteers.
