Assist in organizing and managing events focused on collecting recyclable and reusable items. Volunteers will help set up, guide participants, and ensure smooth operation of the event activities.

Volunteers are needed to assist in the food pantry, helping to organize and distribute food to those in need. Volunteers will engage with visitors and contribute to creating a welcoming environment.

Assist in training service dogs for veterans by participating in scheduled classes and helping to evaluate and care for the dogs. Volunteers will work closely with trainers and veterans to ensure the dogs are properly trained to meet the specific needs of each veteran.

Perform adoptions for animals by working with the public to secure new adoptive homes. Training is provided and required, including classroom sessions and coaching with active adoption counselors.

Handle dogs of all sizes at adoption events, knowing basic commands and safe training methods. Handlers are expected to walk dogs around the event and outside for necessary relief.

Pick up animals from animal control facilities and rural pounds arriving in the Chicago area. Transport them to designated veterinary clinics as per a director's instructions.

Provide temporary homes for dogs and puppies recovering from illness or awaiting adoption. Supplies are provided, and foster care is vital as the organization rescues animals from euthanasia.

Help raise funds for veterinary care of rescued dogs. Volunteers can assist with specific events or take charge of activities like bake sales to support the organization's mission.

Assist with administrative needs, website maintenance, graphic design, or other areas of expertise. Volunteers can contribute their talents to support the organization's operations.

Work with influencers to promote library advocacy and support. Volunteers will engage with social media influencers to spread awareness and support for libraries.

Help raise money to support libraries by conducting donor research and assisting with fundraising efforts. Volunteers will work closely with staff to identify potential donors and cultivate relationships.

Assist in creating products to help raise funds for supporting libraries in the United States. Volunteers will design merchandise that promotes library advocacy and generates revenue.

Create engaging video content to support libraries in the United States. Volunteers will produce and edit videos that highlight the importance of libraries and advocate for their support.

Help create visual content to reach Americans and support libraries. Volunteers will work on graphic design projects to engage the public and promote library advocacy.

Join the donor thank-you team to write personalized thank-you notes to donors. This role can be done from home and requires attention to detail and good handwriting.

Volunteers process, sort, and stock food items in preparation for client shopping days. This role requires standing/walking for 2-3 hours and involves some lifting.

Drivers reclaim perishable foods from local retailers using the EYFP van. Volunteers must be at least 21, have a valid IL driver's license, and be able to lift cases weighing up to 50 pounds.

Volunteers greet clients, provide them with a pre-printed shopping list, assist them in the mini-mart, and deliver completed orders to clients' vehicles. Volunteers must be able to stand/walk for 1.5-3 hours depending on the shift.
