Early Ambulation Program Volunteers assist, accompany, and encourage identified inpatients to ambulate and move from one place to another. Training will be provided by designated Physical Medicine & Rehab staff. Volunteers are asked to commit to 6 months of service.

Life Story Facilitators are specifically trained to interview patients who have agreed to be part of the Life Story Narrative Program and record the patient’s life story. Facilitators must be able to listen, converse, and possess excellent writing skills.

Volunteers create and donate handmade items such as origami, jewelry, small pictures, paintings, poetry, knitted or crocheted items, and greeting cards for distribution to patients, staff, and gift shops. This role allows volunteers to engage with the hospital community in a meaningful way.
