The WHVFD is a group of individuals dedicated to the preservation of life and property to the best of abilities without expectation of personal gain. This position does not require any participation in physical duties of the volunteer firefighter and does not require participation in training of firefighting duties. Junior Firefighters: We are looking to get the next generation of volunteer firefighters involved, trained, and ready to serve their community. Junior firefighter applicants must be minimum 15 years of age. Junior firefighters can participate in training and the hours will be recorded with the Kentucky State Fire Commission.
