The Woodson Volunteer Fire Department is 100% volunteer, and we are always seeking quality individuals to join the department. Woodson VFD serves the community of Woodson, as well as Throckmorton County, and we provide mutual aid to surrounding counties. This is a unique opportunity for those looking to make a difference in our community. Members of the department respond to a wide variety of incidents, including structure fires, wildland fires, industrial emergencies, automobile accidents, and medical emergencies. Training is provided by the department, and can include training in both fire and emergency medical services. Training is conducted at the departmental level, in conjunction with other departments, and at area schools. As a member of the department, you will have the opportunity to participate in some of the largest, most demanding emergency situations in our area. You will get to see and do things most people will never have the opportunity to experience.
