Help change the lives of children with cancer by volunteering at one of our summer camps. Volunteers can assist with various camp activities and provide support to campers. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and can choose to volunteer for a single day or for the entire summer.

Assist with the Patchogue Community Garden by watering, weeding, planting, and harvesting. Volunteers are expected to give one to two hours per week, gaining valuable gardening experience and participating in seasonal classes.

Assist the dietitian in the wellness program by helping with food demonstrations, handing out surveys, and checking in students. This role is ideal for those passionate about learning and helping others, with opportunities to earn community service hours or school credit.

Assist the Director with various administrative tasks such as newsletters, volunteer applications, phone calls, data entry, and email correspondence. No experience is required, and volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Help spread the word about Harmony Café by creating relationships with community groups and organizations. Volunteers will set up meetings and introduce Harmony Café’s mission and vision to potential partners.

As an interior firefighter you'll be responsible for assisting in fire suppression, rescue, and search tactics at structure fires. Firefighters are also responsible for responding to and assisting in medical, including motor vehicle accidents. Duties at medical alarms include but are not limited to: driving an ambulance to and from scene and hospital, assisting EMTs with patient care, lifting and moving patients into and out of ambulance. Firefighters are also responsible staffing our marine rescue boat and assisting with water rescues, operation of hydraulic and other power tools at motor vehicle accidents and other technical rescues. | Requirements: Upon entering the fire department and beginning their probationary period members must: maintain a 20% quota of all incidents including: fires, ambulance calls, weekly trainings/drills, department and company meetings. Within one year of joining members must complete firefighter 1 course at Suffolk County Fire Academy, attend all OSHA training, gain working knowledge on all fire apparatus, become driver qualified on ambulances.
