As a Spellbinders Volunteer Storyteller, you will engage with children and adults in schools, libraries, and community centers to share the joy of storytelling. Volunteers are trained to enhance literacy and create connections through the art of oral storytelling.

Participate in meal packaging events to support those facing hunger in Colorado. Volunteers will work together to pack meals at the new warehouse location.

Engage in the packaging of meals that serve Colorado persons who experience hunger on a daily basis. Volunteers will help pack meals in a group setting at the new warehouse location.

Guide people while they shop in the free food market, explain limits, and physically assist seniors and the disabled. Volunteers should have strong interpersonal skills.

Assist Spanish-speaking shoppers in the free food market and translate for intake if needed. Volunteers must speak fluent Spanish and English.

Help prepare the market by stocking and reorganizing shelves, cleaning fixtures, breaking down and recycling boxes, and sorting donations. Volunteers must be able to bend, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds and wear closed-toe shoes.

Assist with tasks that require lifting 50 pounds and up. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared for physically demanding work.

Monitor inventory, stock market as needed, assist shoppers with packing groceries and loading their car, and assist homeless shoppers. Volunteers must be able to bend, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds and wear closed-toe shoes.

Assist in organizing and executing events such as the Miss Curly Self-eSTEAM Pageant. Responsibilities include liaising with the public and supporting various event activities.

Volunteers provide pet therapy sessions to patients, requiring certification and appropriate insurance for their therapy animals. This role typically involves a weekly commitment of 1–3 hours.

Volunteers with a cosmetology or barber license provide haircuts to patients in their homes or facilities. This role typically requires a weekly commitment of 1–3 hours.

Volunteers assist patients and families in notarizing financial or medical documents as needed. This role typically requires a weekly commitment of 1–3 hours.

Veteran volunteers serve veteran patients, creating a special bond through shared experiences. Training is provided for all volunteers working directly with veteran patients and families.

Volunteers provide respite for caregivers and companionship/socialization for hospice patients. This role involves visiting patients in their homes or facilities, typically requiring a weekly commitment of 1–3 hours.

Volunteers with Reiki I, II, or Master Certification provide Reiki sessions to patients and/or family members in their homes or facilities. This position typically requires a weekly commitment of 1–3 hours.

Capture photos of foster dogs to help promote them for adoption and document their stories.

Assist foster homes by walking dogs, attending vet appointments, and helping with training and socialization.

Assist with administrative duties such as record-keeping, application processing, and compliance with licensing and tax requirements.

Help organize and manage events, including setting up and tearing down, assisting with dogs, and promoting the rescue to the public.

Open your home and heart to dogs in need by providing a temporary home for them. Work closely with the rescue to rehabilitate each foster dog until they are ready for adoption.
