Community Advocates support Renewal House both behind the scenes and in front of the community. Responsibilities include participating in local events such as health fairs and educational sessions, organizing fundraising drives, donation management and support, educational presentation prep and implementation, and material distribution in the community.

As a Client Advocate, you will assist Renewal House staff with providing services to our clients, including transportation to and from important appointments, legal accompaniment, emotional support, advocating for resources, hospital accompaniment, childcare, and screening for safe housing. You will also provide office coverage by answering the hotline, greeting clients, organizing printed materials and files, and other basic office procedures and projects.

Volunteers will share their interests with student members by mentoring youth, becoming reading buddies, facilitating classes and discussions, assisting with hands-on projects, and helping with behind-the-scenes essentials. Volunteers are paired with students who share similar interests to enhance the learning experience.

Board members work closely with GardenShare's staff, sharing a commitment to food, hunger, and farming issues. They meet monthly and serve on at least one committee, contributing skills and perspectives to the organization's mission.

Assist with folding, stuffing, and labeling bulk mailings. This social opportunity allows volunteers to engage with a group while supporting GardenShare's communication efforts.

The Outreach & Education Committee works to educate the community about issues surrounding hunger and local food/agriculture. Activities include attending events, tabling at local venues, and spreading the word about GardenShare’s efforts.

As a Farmers Market Manager Assistant, you will be available to customers to answer questions, provide information about the Market and GardenShare, and process electronic transactions (SNAP/EBT, Debit, and Credit Cards).

GardenShare is looking for people to promote awareness of the use of SNAP/EBT benefits at St. Lawrence County Farmers Markets. As a SNAP Outreach Educator, you will share materials and resources to engage and educate people.

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to provide transportation for community members to access crucial healthcare services and food sources. Volunteers set their own hours and receive mileage reimbursement for trips completed.
