Lewis & Clark County rural fire departments are seeking interested members of our communities that would like to become firefighters, EMTs, or fire department support personnel. 14 of the 16 L&C departments are all volunteer with over 275 members. We are looking for 100 additional firefighters, EMTs, and support personnel. Rural fire responded to 2,800 calls for service in 2022, an 8% increase from the previous year. Although a little crazy at times, running from call to call, fire to fire; it's fun to be a part of the team and make a difference in your community. WVFR receives approximately 1,000 emergency calls per year for structure fires, wildland fires, motor vehicle accidents, and medical responses. Covering 1,100 sq/mi of Lewis and Clark County, WVFR has three stations housing a Pierce 100' aerial platform ladder truck, various engines, tenders, brush trucks, rescue units, and command vehicles.
