Respond to all aspects of emergency services. Respond to fire alarms, structure fires, tech rescue responses, basic EMS response, keep fire apparatus in working order, assist with station duties. We are a volunteer firefighter organization that protects the 313 square miles of Geary County with the exception of the three cities- Junction City, Grandview Plaza and Milford. Sixteen trucks located at 9 stations manned by 70 plus volunteers make up the department. Both the Chief and Asst. Chief are full-time County employees. Over half of our calls are for grassland fires with structure and vehicle fires making up the majority of the rest of the calls. | Requirements: Volunteers must be over the age of 18, reside in Geary County and live outside the city limits of the three cities with-in our county.
