Join us as a Community Engagement Volunteer to help connect with educators and community leaders who can benefit from our game kits. Your role will involve outreach, communication, and assisting in organizing events that promote the use of games in education.

Volunteers will conduct visits with their trained and certified pets to provide emotional and rehabilitative support to residents in the Brazos Valley area. Volunteers must complete preliminary visits, a temperament test, and supervised visits before fully joining the organization.

As an active volunteer member of The 12th Can, you will engage in essential tasks such as receiving donations, sorting and shelving food, managing the front office, and participating in events focused on food insecurity. This role is ideal for those looking to make a tangible difference in the Aggie community while developing leadership skills.

As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in a child's life by fostering a supportive and encouraging relationship. You will go through an application process, an interview, and training to prepare you for your role as a Big.

Participate in the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project by collecting data on larval monarch populations and milkweed habitat. Volunteers will aid in conserving monarchs and contribute to butterfly ecology research.

Assist in conducting a moth inventory at Lick Creek Park by setting bucket traps, retrieving them, and sorting specimens. Volunteers will help document over 1000 species of moths and contribute data to national databases.

Help increase the number of bluebirds in the area by providing new nesting boxes and managing and monitoring the boxes during the breeding season. Volunteers will build, deploy, monitor, and maintain nest boxes, checking them weekly and recording their status.

Conduct educational presentations or activities on naturalist topics with groups of children in organized settings. Volunteers will receive credit for time spent presenting and preparing for these educational activities.

Assist in teaching English and preparing students for the citizenship test. Volunteers will help with class materials and support students in their learning process.

Help teach English as a Second Language to immigrants and refugees. Volunteers will work directly with students to improve their language skills.

Support Spanish-speaking students in their citizenship classes by assisting with instruction and providing resources. This role is ideal for bilingual volunteers.

Provide information, referrals, and assistance to immigrants in need. This role requires a commitment to a regular volunteer schedule and bilingual skills are preferred.
