We are an all volunteer Department located in Naches, WA. The Naches Fire Department provides emergent care, rescue, and fire protection to the citizens of Yakima County FD #3 from milepost 194 on US12 to the summit of White Pass. We provide services to the town of Naches. We average nearly 350 calls a year with around 25 active personnel. These members of the fire department, who are your friends and neighbors, pride themselves on being trained and equipped to respond to any incident within our district at any time. Coordinate with businesses and organizations for food drives, speak to community organizations about supporting the Food Bank, and promote the Food Bank on social media. This role can be performed from home.

Assist with setting up, transporting food, and helping clients during food distribution days. Volunteers are needed to restock shelves, unload food from delivery trucks, sort donations, assist clients with shopping, and maintain cleanliness.

Assist in our Medical Care Center by providing support to medical professionals and helping with patient care. Volunteers may help with administrative tasks or directly assist in patient interactions.

Engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in the community. Volunteers will distribute essential supplies and provide information about available services.

Support families experiencing homelessness by assisting in our Family Shelter. Volunteers will help with organizing activities, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe environment for families.

Join us in serving meals to those in need at the Good News Café. Volunteers will help prepare, serve, and clean up after meals, providing a warm and welcoming environment for our guests.

Assist students in navigating public and private resources to overcome barriers to success. Volunteers will work directly in the Yakima Valley school districts.

Assist members with light yard work and occasional home tasks such as changing light bulbs or checking smoke detectors to maintain a safe living environment.

Help organize and participate in events, potlucks, and outreach activities to promote the Yakima Selah Neighbors’ Network and engage the community.

Assist in surveying bumble bee nest populations and behavior throughout Washington. Volunteers will also educate the public about nest relocation options instead of exterminating inconvenient bumblebee nests.

Call or visit members who may be homebound to combat loneliness and provide companionship through phone calls, visits, or as a walking buddy.
