Volunteers are needed to help with setting up and running adoption and fundraising events. This role is vital for the smooth operation of events that support the rescue's mission.

Assist with on-site maintenance tasks such as cleaning, fixing, or moving items around the farm. Volunteers help maintain the grounds to ensure proper care of the animals' home.

Provide care for the animals by grooming and spending time with them. Volunteers are expected to visit regularly to help animals from difficult backgrounds become familiar and comfortable with new people.

Participate in bi-annual Work Days to help maintain the sanctuary by completing various projects. Volunteers ensure a safe and relaxing environment for the Sanctuary Residents.

Provide the public with refuge information at the Visitor Center. Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 5pm, and Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm.

Repair nesting boxes, conduct bird surveys, and assist with database entry. Support the biological research and conservation efforts at the refuge.

Conduct programs for school and scout groups, set up environmental education programs, and design interpretive brochures. Conduct refuge tours and interpretive walks, and provide bird walks and a bird identification station.

Perform general office work, computer work, and proofreading. Assist with administrative tasks to support the refuge's operations.

Assist with post boundary signs, litter clean-up, general building cleanup, vehicle maintenance, landscaping maintenance, and trail maintenance. Paint observation towers and buildings, and install information and interpretive signs.

Volunteers are needed to help with fostering, pet sitting, transportation to vet appointments, and socialization of cats and kittens. Experience with cats, especially bottle feeding, is a plus.
