The Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medicals Services are some of the most diverse and challenging jobs today. Some by family or friends, others for the desire to help and serve their fellow citizen, while some just enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with responding on a seconds notice to an emergency.        Volunteering in the fire service is an excellent way to give back to your community. Many people like the feeling of helping someone else, especially in their greatest times of need, and this is what the fire service is all about. Not only do you get to help others but you get to meet new people, people from many different ways of life. You get to experience and learn new things, being a part of something bigger than yourself. Everytime the alarm goes off, we are faced with a different challenge to solve. We stand ready to respond 24/7, everyday of the year, in every weather condition possible. Anytime the alarm sounds, we respond. We train on many different types of emergencies ranging from structure fire, to heart attacks, to car accidents, to childbirths and any other imaginable emergency in between. Day or night we may have to use these skills, and very often under potentially stressful and emotional circumstances.
