Under the supervision of the Fire Chief, the Volunteer Firefighter performs advanced firefighting work in preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires, responding to hazardous materials incidents and emergency calls which include special rescue situations such as vehicle crashes, as well as provide support for Athens County EMS providers. Our main protection area is the Village of Glouster, but we also provide protection to area within Trimble Township. Volunteer Firefighters will be placed on a probationary period for 1 year and will be required to pass at a minimum the 36 hour Volunteer Fire Fighter Course through Ohio EMS which requires a a passing score on a state test upon the completion of the course.
