If Firefighting isn't your idea of a good time we have various support staff opportunities. Volunteer positions include: Receptionist - answering the phone, filing, data input, etc. Chaplain/Crisis Management Team - simply be there as someone that our firefighters can talk to or needs encouragement Fire Prevention/Life Safety Education - come to schools, daycares, community events, open house, Halloween carnival, etc. Pre-planning - Organize and data input our pre-plans Social Media - Facebook & Instagram input Website Developer/Maintenance C.A.R.E.S. Program Tech - to identify crisis within our community and provide timely solutions with purpose and compassion. Often while firefighters are responding to emergencies, additional needs are noticed in conjunction with the emergency the person called for. These needs plus the needs we are familiar with is where the C.A.R.E.S. Tech comes in and connects the community with resources. Volunteers create baby quilts, known as Love Wrappers, for NICU bassinettes. These quilts are later sent home with parents. Volunteers can pick up kits at meetings to work on at home and return the completed quilts.

Volunteers collect aluminum soda can tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House in Shreveport. Tabs are collected at guild meetings and delivered to the Ronald McDonald House to help fund their programs.

Volunteers sew Comfort Caps for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Ready-to-sew kits are available at guild meetings, and each cap takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Lit for Life is a digital literacy program that equips nursing home residents with Kindle eReaders and provides one-on-one support to access books and audiobooks. Volunteers will assist seniors in using eReaders and accessing digital content.

Volunteer as a physician, nurse, social worker, or other health professional to provide basic health care and preventive health screenings during missions. Volunteers may also offer expertise in developing new programs.

Contribute skills such as computer expertise or grant writing to support the organization's operations and program development.

Provide short-term foster care for dogs in Shreveport, Louisiana, for 1-7 days. Fosters help bridge the gap between rescue and permanent adoption by providing temporary homes for dogs in need.

Volunteer as a driver for dog transports, which typically require a 3-8 day commitment. Drivers help transport rescued dogs from Louisiana to the Pacific Northwest, ensuring their safe arrival at partner rescues.

Drive the medical RV to various mission locations, ensuring timely and safe transport of medical equipment and personnel.
